LVA (Argentina) 2026/27

The Liga de Voleibol Argentina (LVA) stands as the premier professional men's volleyball competition in the country. It operates independently from the national federation, which manages the women's top division and lower-tier national leagues. The league was established in 1996 under the name Liga Argentina de Clubes before being rebranded as Liga A1 in 2003 when management passed to the Asociación de Clubes Liga Argentina de Voleibol (ACLAV). It adopted its current acronym in 2018.

The tournament employs a distinctive format known as the "Tour" or "Circuit". Rather than a traditional home-and-away round robin, teams travel to centralized cities for short blocks of matches during the regular season. This structure sets the competitive rhythm for the entire calendar. The top teams progress to the playoffs, where quarterfinals and semifinals are contested in best-of-three series. The championship is decided in a best-of-five final.

There is no direct relegation from the LVA to the second division, Serie A2. Promotion from the lower tier is determined by administrative and financial criteria rather than strict sporting results. This approach emphasizes stability among the participating clubs. Currently, the league features ten teams, including Banfield, Boca Juniors, Ciudad Voley, Monteros, River Plate, and San Lorenzo de Almagro.

UPCN San Juan holds the record for success with nine titles. Ciudad Vóley, formerly Ciudad de Bolívar, has won three championships and entered the 2026 season as the reigning champion following a triple crown in the previous campaign. The competition has undergone various sponsorship-related name changes, currently operating under the full title Liga de Voleibol Argentina - Río Uruguay Seguros (LVA-RUS).
