The Pan-American Cup is a continental volleyball event operated by NORCECA. It functions as a secondary tournament within the regional pyramid, sitting below the top-tier NORCECA Continental Championship. Unlike standard continental competitions, this event uniquely includes invited teams from CSV, such as Brazil, Chile, and Colombia, making it an inter-confederation affair. It serves primarily as a qualifier for the NORCECA Continental Championship and the Pan American Games. The competition involves a format where ten teams are divided into two pools for a round-robin group stage, followed by knockout quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final. There is no formal promotion or relegation system, with participation determined by invitation or selection. The United States holds the record for the most titles in both the men’s and women’s senior competitions. The tournament is held annually, although it experienced a cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic and an unofficial edition in 2021. Youth categories, including U19, Junior, U21, and U23, operate under the same umbrella but began later in 2011. The women’s senior tournament was established in 2002, while the men’s senior competition followed in 2006. Notable history includes the inclusion of South American teams starting in 2008 for women and 2010 for men. Argentina previously secured back-to-back men’s titles in 2017 and 2018. The current champions are the United States for the men’s 2026 edition and the Dominican Republic for the women’s 2025 edition. Participation involves nations such as Antigua and Barbuda, Canada, and Costa Rica alongside the invited South American sides.
