Stal Mielec and Odra played out a 1:1 draw in the First League's seventh round on Saturday, with both sides taking their points back to the table in equal measure. The match, played on 5 September 2026, saw two teams with identical records — two wins, three draws, two losses — trading blows without either able to break the deadlock.
P. Szysz gave the hosts the advantage early, firing home in the eighth minute. It was a straightforward finish, no pretensions about it, and for a while Stal looked comfortable enough with their lead. To be fair, Odra had work to do if they were to come back.
The visitors levelled through K. Getinger's penalty in the 60th minute. By then the game had settled into a rhythm, neither side threatening much beyond sporadic bursts. And here's the thing about penalties — they tend to shift momentum even when the rest of the match stays the same.
Coaches made their moves in quick succession. Odra brought on four players at 66 minutes — K. Cybulski, M. Spychala, B. Baranski and B. Kwiecien — while Stal responded with changes of their own, bringing on P. Szysz and M. Feliks for the 73rd minute. A. Liber came on for Odra in the 81st, and there were three yellow cards between them: K. Koscielny and B. Kukulowicz both in the 81st, J. Perez adding his in the 87th.
Odra dominated possession at 51 per cent and registered 107 attacks compared to Stal's 79, yet shots on target were level at five apiece. The visitors showed better accuracy at 50 per cent against Stal's 38 per cent, but neither side could convert their superiority into a second goal. Stal took 15 goal kicks to Odra's five, suggesting the visitors were keeping the ball more often.
Both teams remain on nine points after seven games, Stal in 10th and Odra in 9th, separated only by goal difference. The result extends neither side's unbeaten run particularly — Stal came into this off a 3:3 draw with Gornik Leczna, while Odra had beaten Wisla Krakow 2:1 the previous day. For now, the table stands as it does.
