Tallinna Kalev II and Legion played out a 3:3 draw in the Esiliiga B regular season on Friday. The match, the 24th round of the campaign, finished with both sides having seen plenty of action but neither able to claim all three points.
And here's the thing about this one — it opened fast. H. Lehtmaa put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute, then N. Grankin answered for Legion just five minutes later. K. Pormeister restored the lead for Kalev II at the hour's mark, and Grankin was back on the scoresheet by the 66th minute.
The 67th minute brought another goal, though no scorer was recorded. By then the pattern was clear: Legion kept coming. T. Alunurm pulled one back for the hosts at 70, but Grankin completed his brace and then a hat-trick with a late strike in the 86th minute to salvage something from the afternoon.
After this result Kalev II remain ninth with 23 points from 26 games, while Legion sit tenth on 12 points from 25 matches. The visitors have played a game fewer but are still 11 points off their hosts in the table.
Neither side was in great form coming into this fixture. Kalev II had drawn their last, then won against Jõhvi Phoenix before that heavy 5-0 defeat to Narva U21. Legion's recent run included a 1-0 win over Jõhvi but also a 10-2 hammering by Tartu Kalev earlier in July. This draw at least broke the losing streak for both.
