A. Adelgor

Aske Adelgaard's name in the Netherlands is tied above all to one match: the 2024–25 KNVB Cup final against AZ Alkmaar. The Dane started at left-back, saw the game go to extra time locked at 1–1, and was withdrawn in the 72nd minute of the additional period before Go Ahead Eagles held their nerve to win 4–2 on penalties. His route to that final ran through a semi-final against PSV in which his defensive work against Noa Lang drew public praise from manager Paul Simonis and team-mate Evert Linthorst.

Adelgaard came through the youth ranks at Odense Boldklub, spent time on loan-like spells at Randers FC before returning to Odense, and made his senior breakthrough there with 40 league appearances. Go Ahead Eagles signed him in August 2024, and he went on to make 49 league appearances for the club in Deventer, establishing himself as a regular left-back, capable of playing on the right side of defence when needed.

Internationally, Adelgaard has represented Denmark at both under-20 and under-21 level, scoring once in two caps for the U20s and once in twelve caps for the U21s. In May 2025 he received his first call-up to the senior Danish national team.

In the summer of 2026, Adelgaard left Go Ahead Eagles to join FC Twente, closing a spell in Deventer that had brought him a domestic cup winner's medal and a growing reputation as a dependable left-sided defender.
