About the player
Adam Yakubu began his career in his home city of Jos, moving through three Nigerian clubs — Adamawa United, Akwa United and Plateau United — before leaving for Europe in 2024, when Slovak side AS Trenčín signed him. He went on to make 33 appearances for the club over two seasons.
In January 2026, Yakubu moved to Ukraine to join LNZ Cherkasy, taking the number 8 shirt. The transfer came with his market value set at around €450,000, though the fee itself was not disclosed. He has since collected a runners-up medal, finishing as a beaten finalist with LNZ in the 2025/26 Ukrainian championship.
At international level, Yakubu was called up to Nigeria's under-20 side in 2022, though he is yet to add a senior cap for the Super Eagles.
