About the player
Alex Szabó left Honvéd's academy on loan for the 2021/2022 season, spending it at Szolnoki MÁV FC before returning to the Budapest club in June 2022.
Szabó, who is comfortable both at right-back and in the centre of defence, has represented Hungary at youth level, winning a cap for the under-18s in 2019 before establishing himself in the under-21 setup, where he had made 15 appearances by the end of 2024, including qualifiers for the 2025 European Under-21 Championship.
Before his move into Honvéd's youth system, Szabó had come through Karád SC and Dél-Balaton FC Balatonszemes, making his senior debut for Honvéd around the 2020/2021 season.
