About the player
Ben Opoku-Labes was born in Kiel. He came through Holstein Kiel's youth system, spending time with the club's U17, U19 and U19 B sides, where he scored 12 goals in 32 games for the U19s in the A-Junioren-Bundesliga North. He also had a spell with Holstein Kiel's reserve team in the Regionalliga Nord. In the summer of 2023, he joined 1. FC Kilia Kiel as a free agent, where he made 21 appearances and scored 4 goals in the Regionalliga Nord.
The breakthrough came at SC Weiche Flensburg 08. Signed as a free agent in July 2024, Opoku-Labes scored 10 goals in just 8 Regionalliga Nord appearances and finished the season as the club's top scorer. He joined Hoffenheim II on a free transfer on 1 July 2025, signing a contract running until 30 June 2027.
Opoku-Labes holds dual German and Ghanaian citizenship. He has represented Germany at U18 level, winning 4 caps and scoring once, but has not featured for Ghana at senior level.
