Bernardo Martin Aguiar Gomes

Bernardo Gomes was born in Funchal and came through the youth academies of Zenit Saint Petersburg and Slavia Prague before joining Marítimo's youth setup in 2018, where he signed his first professional contract in August 2021. His senior career began with Marítimo B in the 2022/23 season, playing in the Liga Revelação U23 and later the Campeonato de Portugal, and he made his first-team debut for Marítimo in January 2024.

That same month he scored his first senior goal, in a 3–1 win over Nacional, and in April 2024 he was named winner of the Liga Portugal 2 Goal of the Month after netting a 90+3rd-minute winner in a comeback against Feirense that finished 3–2. The 2024–25 season brought a serious injury that kept him out for several months.

In July 2025 he moved to União de Leiria on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract that included a sell-on clause for Marítimo. He marked his debut with a goal, coming off the bench on 10 August 2025 to score the equaliser in a 3–2 win over Académico Viseu.

Internationally, Gomes has represented Portugal at U-18 level, earning four caps, and took part in the 2022 Mediterranean Games.
