About the player
Tòfol Montiel came up through the Mallorca academy before Fiorentina paid to bring him to Italy in 2018, and the Primavera side he joined turned into a trophy-winning one: back-to-back Coppa Italia Primavera titles and, across his time in the youth setup, 19 goals and 11 assists in 44 appearances. Fiorentina sent him out on loan three times — to Vitória de Setúbal, then Siena, then Atlético Baleares — and in July 2022 the club and player agreed to terminate his contract rather than continue the arrangement.
What followed was a run through smaller leagues rather than a single breakthrough: a season back with Mallorca's reserve side, a spell in Spain with UD Alzira, then a move to Hungary's Kecskeméti TE in 2024.
The turn came in Finland. Montiel joined FC Lahti in August 2025 and immediately became a scoring threat in the Ykkösliiga, finishing the season with 5 goals as the club won the title and secured promotion to the Veikkausliiga. It is the first trophy of his senior career. He has represented Spain at U18 level but has not added senior caps.
