About the player
Daniel Bennie was born in Hong Kong before moving through Australia's youth system, joining Perth Glory's academy and signing his first professional contract there in July 2023. He went on to appear for Perth Glory's senior side in the A-League during the 2023–2024 season.
In July 2024 Bennie moved to Queens Park Rangers, joining the Championship club for a fee reported to be around £250,000. He was given the number 23 shirt for his first season at Loftus Road. In 2026 he was loaned out to Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership, switching to the number 77 shirt for his spell in Scotland.
Bennie's international career so far has been with Australia at youth level. He made his debut for the Australia under-17s in 2023, going on to earn six caps and score once, including an appearance at the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup. He was also part of the Australia under-20 squad that won the 2025 AFC U-20 Asian Cup. Despite being born in Hong Kong, which leaves him eligible to represent that country, and having spoken of his interest in playing for Scotland, he has not featured for any senior national side.
