About the player
He made his senior debut a year later and stayed until 2016, a spell in which he won the Belgian Championship three times and the Belgian Super Cup three times, and in 2014 was named the league's best player, taking home the Belgian Golden Boot.
He spent three seasons in Genoa before Leicester City signed him for a reported €19.2 million in August 2019. A loan to Torino for the 2021/22 campaign interrupted his Leicester spell before he returned for the following season.
Praet left Leicester when his contract expired and signed for Royal Antwerp on a free transfer in September 2024, going on to make 57 league appearances for the club. For Belgium, he scored two goals during qualification for the 2022 World Cup, finding the net against both Belarus and Russia, part of a senior international record of 15 caps and two goals stretched between 2014 and 2023. In July 2026 he joined KV Mechelen on a free transfer on a two-year deal with the option of a third.
