About the player
Ercan Kara played for FC Mauerwerk, topping the Wiener Stadtliga with 35 goals in 2016–17, and then playing in the Regionalliga Ost. He eventually moved to Rapid Wien.
His first spell at Rapid, from 2020, led to a move to Orlando City SC, where he won the U.S. Open Cup.
Kara returned to Rapid Wien on loan in February 2025, and the move was made permanent that July on a two-year contract. He earned seven caps for Austria, debuting against Denmark in March 2021, though his last call-up came later that year and by 2023 he said he was no longer part of the national team's plans under Ralf Rangnick.
