About the player
Elliott Hewitt made his name before most players start their careers. Coming through the Macclesfield Town academy, he became the club's youngest-ever Football League player in May 2011 at 16 years and 342 days old.
Ipswich Town took him on the back of that breakthrough, and he spent three seasons at Portman Road, going out on loan to Gillingham for two short spells and then to Colchester United, where he scored his first senior goal. A free transfer to Notts County in 2015 marked four seasons and 135 league appearances, including a run to the League Two play-offs in 2017/18. Grimsby Town followed in 2019 for two years before Hewitt moved to Mansfield Town in July 2021, again without a fee changing hands.
At Mansfield he has become a regular, passing 177 appearances for the club.
