About the player
Florian Carstens came through the FC St. Pauli academy, arriving in 2014 after spells at Eintracht Elbmarsch, TV Meckelfeld and MTV Treubund Lüneburg. He spent three seasons with the reserve side in the Regionalliga before making his 2. Bundesliga debut in the 2018/19 campaign, and that autumn he signed his first professional contract with the club.
A loan to SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the summer of 2020 turned into the defining stretch of his career so far. After a solid year in the 3. Liga, Wiesbaden made the move permanent, and Carstens went on to make well over a hundred league appearances for the club across five seasons. He was part of the side that won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 2023, and he lifted the Hessen Cup with Wiesbaden twice, in 2021 and again in 2025.
In April 2025 he moved on a free transfer to Hansa Rostock, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2027.
