About the player
Gabriel Ursu came through at Oțelul Galați, the club from his home city. He was sent out on loan twice to gain regular minutes in Liga III with ACS Unirea Braniștea, first for the 2022–23 season and again in 2024–25 after a season back at Oțelul. That second Braniștea loan brought the clearest highlight of his career so far: he was part of the squad that won the Liga III Series 2 title, a result that took the club up to Liga II. In the summer of 2026 he left Oțelul Galați for CSM Reșița, also in Liga II.
Ursu is a right-footed goalkeeper who built his early career on match experience picked up away from Galați rather than on a fixed run in one first team. He has not featured for Romania at any level, senior or youth, so his development has so far played out entirely at club level, between Liga II and Liga III football.
