Jani Atanasov

Jani Atanasov took his first steps in senior football at Akademija Pandev in his native Strumica, helping the club to the Macedonian Second League title in the 2016-17 season before making his own debut the following August. Turkish club Bursaspor paid €600,000 for him in June 2018, and he made his Süper Lig debut two months later.

Atanasov left Bursaspor in September 2020 and signed for Hajduk Split on a free transfer. His time on the Adriatic coast brought the Croatian Cup in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons. In January 2023, Cracovia Kraków paid €420,000 for him and signed him until 2027. He spent the closing months of the 2024-25 season on loan at Puszcza Niepołomice, before a further move in June 2026 to FK Aktobe in Kazakhstan, reported at a fee above €400,000 on an 18-month contract.

Atanasov made his senior debut for North Macedonia on 11 November 2021, in a World Cup qualifier against Armenia, and has since gone on to earn around thirty caps and three goals for the national side. He had already come through the Under-21 setup, scoring six goals in eleven appearances at that level.
