About the player
Jimi Tauriainen came through Chelsea's academy after arriving in July 2020 following trials with Juventus and Inter Milan, and it was under those colours that he made his senior bow, coming off the bench in a 3–2 FA Cup win over Leeds United on 28 February 2024. His Premier League debut followed that same season, on 2 May 2024, in a 2–0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur. He was also named among the substitutes for the 2023–24 EFL Cup final, an occasion that ended in defeat to Liverpool without him being called upon.
Before Chelsea, Tauriainen had progressed through HJK Helsinki's ranks, having started out at FC Wild. He left Chelsea in June 2026 and, on 5 July 2026, signed a three-year contract with AC Horsens on a free transfer.
Tauriainen has represented Finland at every youth level from under-15 to under-21. Football runs in the family: his father, Pasi Tauriainen, was capped for the Finland senior side.
A left-footed midfielder standing 188cm tall, he arrives at Horsens with first-team Premier League and FA Cup experience already behind him despite his age.
