Jonas Harder

Jonas Harder was born in Florence. He joined Audace Galluzzo at five years old before Fiorentina's youth sector took him in at nine, in 2010. He holds Italian and German citizenship through his father, but when it came to choosing colours for youth international football, he chose Italy outright.

The academy grounding paid off. Harder signed his first professional contract in October 2023, and by the following season he had become a fixture of Fiorentina's Primavera side, helping it win the Coppa Italia Primavera and the Supercoppa Italiana Primavera. He made his senior debut for Fiorentina in December 2024.

Rather than fight for minutes at Florence, Fiorentina sent him out to sharpen elsewhere: in July 2025 he joined Calcio Padova on loan in Serie B, where he made 26 appearances and scored once. Basel made the move permanent, announcing his signing on 14 July 2026 on a four-year contract, with Fiorentina keeping a sell-on clause on any future transfer.

At international level, Harder has kept climbing through Italy's youth ranks. He was capped eight times for the Under-19s, featuring at the 2024 European Under-19 Championship in Northern Ireland as Italy reached the semi-finals, and added another eight caps for the Under-20s, including appearances at the 2025 Under-20 World Cup in Chile.
