About the player
Jorg Schreuders was born in Singapore and came through Groningen's own academy, joining the club's youth system in 2015 after starting out at Be Quick 1887. He worked his way up through every age group, entering at under-12 level and eventually earning a place in the first-team squad for the 2022/23 season without ever having played senior football elsewhere.
A right-footed right-back, Schreuders was part of the Groningen squad that won promotion back to the Eredivisie at the end of the 2023–24 season.
That run of form also opened the door to international football. Schreuders made his debut for the Netherlands under-21s in October 2025 and had gone on to win three caps by the end of that year.
Groningen's academy has been the only environment he has known as a professional, and his rise from the club's junior ranks to the Eredivisie has come without a transfer along the way.
