Kolbeinn Þórðarson

Kolbeinn Þórðarson made his senior debut at Breiðablik in 2017, staying with the Icelandic club until the summer of 2019, when he left for Belgium. Lommel SK signed him on a three-year contract, and he spent four years there, playing across both the Belgian Pro League and the Challenger Pro League before his exit in August 2023.

That month he joined IFK Göteborg as a free agent. His contract was initially due to run only to the end of the 2023 season, but the club extended it afterwards. At international level, he earned his first senior cap for Iceland on 8 June 2021, in a friendly against Poland, and has gone on to win three caps without scoring. He has represented the country at youth level from U16 through to U21, and was named in a squad for a friendly against Mexico in February 2026.

Þórðarson has not won a major trophy in his career to date. His one individual honour so far came off the pitch rather than a matchday performance chart: Änglarna, the IFK Göteborg supporters' club, voted him their "Årets Ärkeängel" for 2025, an award given for loyalty and sporting merit rather than statistics.
