Luka Klimovich

It was Instituto's academy that gave Luka Klimovich his platform. He worked his way through the reserve setup, playing in the Torneo de Reservas Proyección in 2023, and caught the attention of the first-team coaching staff enough to earn a professional contract before the year was out. The step up followed quickly: he made his senior debut against Velez Sarsfield that October, coming on in the sixth minute.

Instituto sent him out on loan to Ecuadorian side Imbabura in 2024 to build up minutes, and the move paid off almost immediately. He scored on his debut against Barcelona of Guayaquil in August that year, and went on to make 15 appearances for the club, finishing with six goals. That form did not go unnoticed back home, and he returned to Instituto at the end of the loan spell.

His path back to Ecuador came in early 2026, when he joined Emelec on loan until the end of the year. The agreement includes a purchase option that would allow the Ecuadorian club to buy half of his rights outright.

There is no record to date of a call-up to the Argentina national team.
