About the player
Mikkel Duelund Poulsen came through a string of local youth sides – Virup IF, Vejlby-Risskov Idrætsklub, Hjortshøj-Egaa Idrætsforening and IK Skovbakken – before AGF's academy fed him into FC Midtjylland, where he broke into the first team in 2014. He won two Danish Superliga titles there, in 2014–15 and 2017–18, and in the 2016–17 season became the seventh youngest player in Superliga history to reach ten league goals. In 2014 The Guardian named him among the world's 40 best young talents, and in 2015 the Danish FA gave him its U19 Talent of the Year award. He joined NEC Nijmegen on loan in 2021, then moved on loan again to AGF in January 2023. When his Dynamo Kyiv contract expired in the summer of 2024, the AGF loan converted into a permanent deal.
