About the player
Martin Moormann came through Rapid Wien's academy system, joining the club's youth ranks after stints at SV Sierndorf, SV Horn and the AKA St. Pölten academy. He spent time with Rapid Wien II before breaking into the first team, where he stayed for three seasons. His time there included a run to the ÖFB-Cup final in the 2023/24 season, though Rapid came away with a 0:2 defeat to Sturm Graz. He also featured for the club in the Europa League and Conference League.
The defender was capped extensively at youth level for Austria, representing the U15, U17, U18 and U21 sides; his best return came at U17 level, where he scored once in twelve appearances.
In 2024, Moormann left Rapid Wien for FC Blau-Weiß Linz in a transfer worth 450,000 euros. He moved on again in 2026, this time as a free agent, when he agreed a two-plus-one-year contract with Motherwell.
