M. Palsson

Pålsson took the long way to the back four. He came through Kvarnby IK before joining BK Olympic at 15, and it was there, in Ettan Södra, that he made his senior bow as a 16-year-old forward, gathering eight appearances across two seasons in Sweden's third tier. Malmö FF signed him into their U19 side in early 2025, and the move came with a change of role: from forward to centre-back, a retraining that reshaped his path into the professional game.

The shift paid off quickly. He began training with Malmö's first team that April and put pen to paper on a four-year contract in May 2025. His senior debut followed in the UEFA Europa League, starting as Malmö went down 1–2 to Genk. His first appearance in Allsvenskan came months later, starting in a 1–0 win over Degerfors IF.

He has represented Sweden at youth level, though he is yet to break into the senior national side. At Malmö, the switch from attack to defence remains the defining thread of his story so far — a teenager who spent his formative years scoring in the lower leagues now learning to stop others from doing the same.
