M. Persson

Malte Persson came up through Snöstorp Nyhem FF before moving into Halmstads BK's academy at the end of 2022. He spent time working his way through the youth ranks at Halmstad, and in May 2025 he was promoted from the club's U19 side to the first team, where he signed his first professional contract. He plays as a forward and takes the number 18 shirt at Halmstad, in the Allsvenskan.

Persson is left-footed, and his shot output this season backs that up: five attempts with his left boot against a single effort with his right. In March 2026 he moved out on loan to Laholms FK.

His full name is Carl Malte Östen Persson, and he shares his name with another Swedish footballer — a defender at IK Brage born in 2000 — though the two are unrelated on the pitch. His path through the game so far has been built entirely on internal moves: promotion from the academy and a loan spell, without any transfer fee changing hands.
