Mateja Gašić

Genoa and Sampdoria both came asking, and Mateja Gašić turned them down. In August 2026 he signed instead for Vojvodina, on a four-year contract running to 2030, for a fee reported at around €450,000.

The first was FK Rad in Belgrade, where he came through the U17 and U19 sides before being promoted to the first team in 2021. He wore the armband there too, and made roughly 56 league appearances before leaving in the summer of 2023.

He played 108 matches for the club, scoring three goals and setting up thirteen, and became a fixture in the side and its captain. In 2024–25 Radnik won the Prva Liga Srbije and went up to the SuperLiga; Gašić was a regular starter through it. He is right-footed and has been used mainly at right-back.

His international record is short. He was called into the Serbia U19 squad in September 2021 and won two caps at the Stevan Vilotić Ćele Memorial tournament, against Azerbaijan and Montenegro. Nothing has followed at senior level, and he has picked up no individual awards along the way.
