About the player
Mattias Hellidal came through the youth ranks at B36 Tórshavn. The switch came just over a year after he had signed a two-year extension with B36 Tórshavn in July 2024.
At B36, Hellidal built a substantial first-team record, making 62 appearances and scoring nine goals, having also featured for the club's reserve side. He joined Västerås mid-project, in time to be part of the squad that won Superettan, Sweden's second tier, in 2025.
Hellidal's development has also run through the Faroe Islands' youth international setup rather than Sweden's, despite representing Västerås. He was capped five times at Under-17 level in 2022, nine times at Under-21 [Under-19] level across 2023 and 2024, and has since progressed to the Under-21s, where he has made seven appearances and scored once in 2025.
