Niklas Ødegård

When Molde sold Niklas Ødegård to Kristiansund BK in March 2025, they wrote a buy-back clause into the deal. In 2026 they activated it, and he returned to the club. Neither fee was disclosed.

His first senior football was played a long way from that. In 2019, aged fifteen, he turned out nine times for Ekko/Aureosen IL in the seventh tier of Norwegian football and scored eight goals. Molde took him into their youth setup the following year.

The scoring carried over. Between 2021 and 2024 Ødegård made 22 appearances for Molde FK 2 and scored 20 goals. He debuted for the senior side on 25 July 2021, in an NM Cup win over Spjelkavik, and went on to make 33 Eliteserien appearances for the club, scoring three — 43 matches in all competitions before his departure. He won the Eliteserien with Molde in 2022 and the Norwegian Cup in 2021–22 and in 2023.

The move away, when it came, did not last. Ødegård joined HamKam on loan in March 2024, played 18 Eliteserien matches and scored twice; the loan was terminated early and he was back at Molde by 19 August.

In 2023 he was named in the Team of the Tournament at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship. He has represented Norway at under-17, under-18, under-19, under-20 and under-21 level, with two goals in four under-17 caps, two in twelve at under-19 and one in six under-21 appearances as of November 2025. He has not yet been capped by the senior national side.
