Przemysław Płacheta

When Śląsk Wrocław sold Przemysław Płacheta to Norwich City in July 2020, the roughly €3m fee was a club record for the Polish side — a player who, a year earlier, had arrived at Śląsk for around €70,000 after stints in Germany and Poland. He had started out at Sonnenhof Großaspach before returning home to Pogoń Siedlce and Podbeskidzie.

At Norwich, Płacheta was part of the squad that won the Championship in the 2020/21 season. Across his time at the club he made 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring twice and adding two league assists. A loan to Birmingham City in the 2022/23 season was cut short in January 2023 by a stress fracture of the tibia, after five Championship appearances and one goal.

He moved to Swansea City as a free agent in February 2024 and played ten matches before a hamstring injury in late March. That July he joined Oxford United on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract. He has since made 60 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring six goals.

Płacheta has also represented Poland, making his debut in a 2–0 friendly win over Ukraine in November 2020. He featured at the European Championship that year, including in the group match against Sweden, and later appeared in World Cup 2022 qualifiers. He has won seven caps for the national team.
