About the player
Sebastian Árpád Mailat came through the academy at LPS Banatul Timișoara before joining ACS Poli Timișoara, the club that gave him his professional debut in 2015. From there he moved to CFR Cluj, though loan spells followed at Gaz Metan Mediaș, Universitatea Cluj and FC Voluntari between 2019 and 2021 as he searched for regular football.
A free transfer took Mailat to FC Botoșani in 2022, where the winger established himself and wore the number 7 shirt. The move that stood out came in 2024, when he left Romania altogether for South Korea's Suwon Samsung Bluewings, a transfer reported to be worth somewhere between 250,000 and 300,000 euros — a rare step abroad, and to a different continent, for a player of his profile.
At youth level, Mailat represented Romania across several age groups: six appearances and two goals for the under-17s, seven caps for the under-18s, five for the under-19s, and a single appearance for the under-21s in 2018. He has not featured for the senior national team.
