Shahab Zahedi Tabar

Shahab Zahedi Tabar became the first Iranian footballer to play professional football in Iceland when he joined ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar in 2017, and he went on to win the Icelandic Cup with the club before the year was out. His career took another unusual turn in January 2019, when Suwon Samsung Bluewings terminated his contract by mutual consent just one day after signing him, following the public revelation of a doping suspension he had served back in 2015.

He rebuilt his career in Ukraine, moving to Zorya Luhansk in February 2021 and reaching the Ukrainian Cup final that same season. He was twice named Player of the Round in the Ukrainian Premier League, in December 2020 and again in March 2022. Loan spells took him to Puskás Akadémia and back to Persepolis before he arrived at Avispa Fukuoka, where he became the first Iranian to feature in Japan's J1 League.

At international level, Zahedi Tabar made his debut for Iran on 16 June 2023 against Kyrgyzstan and was part of the squad that won the 2023 CAFA Nations Cup, beating Uzbekistan 1–0 in the final.

In July 2026 he moved on again, signing a two-year contract with Johor Darul Ta'zim as a free transfer.
