Sanzhar Satanov

Sanzhar Satanov is a product of the FC Atyrau academy, coming through the club's system before making his senior debut for the first team in the Premier League in November 2019. Before that step up he had already been given minutes with the reserve side, Atyrau M, in the Second Division.

His path since has moved between divisions. In 2020 he featured for Atyrau M in the First Division while the senior side went on to win that league's title. A year later he joined Maktaaral, helping the club to a runners-up finish in the First Division. In February 2022 Satanov signed for Turan, playing in the Premier League that year before the club's relegation left him in the First Division for the following two seasons.

January 2025 took him to Okzhetpes on a free transfer for a season in Kazakhstan's top flight, and a year later he returned to where it all began, rejoining Atyrau on a free transfer.

In May 2026 Satanov received his first call-up to the Kazakhstan senior national team, named in the squad for matches against Armenia and Hungary. He had yet to make his debut for the national side by the time of the latest reports.

Now back at Atyrau wearing the number 5 shirt, the right-footed centre-back has returned to the club that first gave him his chance in senior football.
