About the player
Shimin Jin's route to Qingdao West Coast has run through two other countries. The midfielder, who wears number 6, started out at Cheonan City in South Korea before leaving in early 2024. Rather than heading straight home, he moved on to Japan, signing for Gainare Tottori in February 2025.
That spell in Japan preceded his return to China, where he joined Qingdao West Coast — a club known until March 2023 as Qingdao Youth Island, a rebrand that explains why some records still list the two names separately for what is the same institution. The switch back to Chinese football came with a transfer fee in the region of €22,000.
Jin plays as a right midfielder. What is clear is the shape of the journey itself: an early move abroad, a second foreign posting in Japan, and now a return to his home country with West Coast, the club where his senior career in China resumes.
