Shinnosuke Fukuda

Shinnosuke Fukuda's route to professional football ran through a university side rather than a club academy. Raised in Urakawa, Hokkaido, he came up through the youth ranks at Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo and was registered with the senior squad in 2018, though he never made an appearance for the first team. Rather than continue at Sapporo, he spent the following years at Meiji University, where his form was rewarded in 2022 when he was named MVP of the Kanto University League Division 1.

That performance earned him a free transfer to Kyoto Sanga FC in February 2023, on a contract running until January 2026. He reached 103 appearances and ten goals in the J1 League, with six assists to his name, alongside seven Emperor's Cup appearances and a further goal in that competition.

In September 2026, Fukuda's career took an unexpected turn abroad: he was loaned to Legia Warsaw for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, having completed a medical the day before the move was confirmed by the J.League. The agreement includes an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee below €500,000.

He has not featured for Japan at any level, youth or senior, meaning his move to Legia Warsaw represents his first experience of football outside the J.League system.
