About the player
Shun Nagasawa's move back to Kyoto Sanga at the end of December 2024.
Nagasawa came through the Shimizu S-Pulse academy and made his senior debut there in 2007, managing only 30 league appearances and five goals across eight years on the books.
The turning point came at Gamba Osaka, where he signed permanently in July 2015. He scored 23 goals in 75 league games there and lifted the Emperor's Cup that same year. His sharpest month came in August 2016, when four goals in four matches earned him the J1 League's Monthly MVP award. A loan to Vissel Kobe in 2018 preceded a permanent switch to Vegalta Sendai, where he added 16 goals in 64 appearances between 2019 and 2021.
He then spent three and a half seasons at Oita Trinita, scoring 21 times in 105 league outings before his contract there expired at the end of 2024. Nagasawa has never been capped by Japan's senior national team.
