Tor Erik Larsen

Tor Erik Larsen grew up in Ålesund and started out with his hometown club's reserve side before moving on to Spjelkavik IL, where he made 42 appearances in the 3. divisjon. He then crossed the Atlantic to play college soccer in the United States for the SIUE Cougars, earning an Honorable Mention All-MVC Scholar-Athlete award in 2021 while carrying a 3.90 GPA in business. In his final college season he started 13 games, conceding at a rate of 1.11 goals a game and keeping three clean sheets. A loan spell in the same period took him to Reading United in the USL League Two, where he featured in a US Open Cup tie against Louisville City.

Larsen returned to Norway in 2022 and spent that season on loan at Stjørdals-Blink in the 1. divisjon, making eight appearances. That same year he signed for Aalesund as a free agent on a two-year deal that has since been extended through 2027. Playing for Aalesund's reserve team in 2022, he had a season worth remembering: he was the only goalkeeper across the top four Norwegian divisions to keep a clean sheet in all four of his side's matches, games that finished 2-0, 2-0, 7-0 and 1-0.

His senior debut for Aalesund came in the 2023 Eliteserien season, at first from the bench. Relegation to the 1. divisjon the following year opened the door to regular football, and in 2024 he started 12 of his 13 league appearances, playing 1,149 minutes across the campaign.
