About the player
Víctor Hugo Navas Barrera made his way into professional football through the youth ranks of Mineros de Guayana, stepping up from the club's U20 side to the first team in late 2020. In 2023 he registered three goals and three assists for the club.
A free transfer took him to Deportivo La Guaira at the start of 2024, though his time there was brief, limited to four league appearances before he moved on within the same year to Club Sport Marítimo de La Guaira, then playing in the Venezuelan second tier. He also played in that season's Copa Venezuela, including a group-stage meeting with his former club, Deportivo La Guaira.
Navas stayed with Marítimo de La Guaira into 2025 before signing for Yaracuyanos FC in January of that year, again on a free transfer. He made 19 league appearances for the club, contributing one assist. In August 2026 he moved on once more, joining Portuguesa FC on a free transfer, with his contract running to the end of December 2026. He has since made six appearances in the Liga FUTVE for his new club.
