About the player
Vasili Vasilenko started out at Torpedo Minsk, then moved through Beltransgaz Slonim and a loan spell at Oshmyany-BGUFK, where he scored his first professional goal. After a year out of the game in 2017, he resurfaced at Osipovichi and then had a first spell at Baranovichi in 2019, scoring once before the club were relegated.
In February 2025 he returned to Baranovichi as a free agent, and he scored four goals in 37 appearances as the club won the Belarusian First League and went up to the Premier League. He signed a new contract there in January 2026.
Since stepping up to the top flight, Vasilenko has made 17 Premier League appearances plus one cup match for Baranovichi, adding two assists along the way. One statistical quirk from his time in the First League stands out: in the first half of the 2023 season he had the highest foul rate per game in the entire championship, at 3.35. He has not been capped for Belarus at senior level.
