William Balikwisha

William Balikwisha was born in Brussels and moved on to the Standard Liège academy, where he progressed into the first team and made his professional debut in August 2018. During his years at Standard Liège he twice went out on loan to gain experience, spending a season with Cercle Brugge and another with MVV Maastricht, before returning to Liège and later turning out once for the club's reserve side, Standard Liège II, in the Challenger Pro League. He was part of the Standard Liège squad beaten by Club Brugge in the 2018–19 Belgian Super Cup final, though he did not feature in that match himself.

In July 2024, after six years at Standard Liège, Balikwisha moved to OH Leuven on a four-year contract for a reported fee of €650,000. He has since become a regular presence in the side, wearing the number 21 shirt and racking up 45 league appearances with two goals.

Internationally, Balikwisha qualifies through his Congolese background and made his senior debut for DR Congo in March 2023, in a 3–1 win over Mauritania. He is yet to score for the national team, though he has continued to earn call-ups since that first cap.
