V. Duba

Wandile Duba's route into professional football ran through Lenasia Football Academy and Jozi Stars before Kaizer Chiefs took him into their academy. He worked his way up through the reserve side, and in the 2022/23 Diski Challenge Shield he scored five goals in five appearances, numbers that pushed him towards the first team. He made his senior debut for Kaizer Chiefs on 31 December 2022 against Golden Arrows, though his first senior league goal did not arrive until 5 March 2024, also against Golden Arrows.

Duba is registered as a midfielder but has been used mainly as a right winger or attacking midfielder. His breakthrough season came in 2024/25 under coach Nasreddine Nabi, when he scored five league goals and added an assist. He also scored in the Nedbank Cup semi-final against Mamelodi Sundowns, part of a cup run that ended with Kaizer Chiefs beating Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the final. That victory ended a ten-year wait for a trophy at the club.

Internationally, Duba came through the South Africa U20 side, where he scored twice, including an appearance at the 2022 COSAFA U20 Championship. He earned his first senior call-up to Bafana Bafana in June 2025, coming off the bench against Mozambique at the COSAFA Cup.
