Yamiru Wouro

Yamirou Ouorou's biggest step so far came on a March evening in 2025, when he was sent on as a substitute for AC Horsens in the 82nd minute of a 2–1 home win over Esbjerg in the Danish 1st Division, marking his first-team debut. It was the reward for a path built almost entirely within the club: after arriving in Denmark in July 2024 on a four-year contract from the USS Kraké academy in Sèmè-Kpodji, he worked through the Horsens youth ranks at U19, U21 and U23 level before being pulled into the senior squad in January 2025.

His early form in Denmark hinted at what was coming. He opened his account for the U19 side with a goal against Brøndby IF in September 2024, just weeks after leaving Benin. Before that move, Ouorou had already captained Benin's U17 side at USS Kraké, and he carried that international experience further, earning caps for the Benin U17 team between 2021 and 2023.

The senior national team followed. Ouorou received his first call-up to Benin's full squad in June 2026 and made his debut that same month, coming on as a substitute in a 1–1 friendly draw against Niger in Casablanca. The team he joined as a teenager is where his progress from academy football to first-team minutes has played out in under a year.
