Andrézieux

Two communes on the Loire plain, Andrézieux and Bouthéon, were joined into one in 1965; the football club that now carries both names had already been playing for eighteen years by then.

The club left Stade Roger Baudras for L'Envol Stadium in 2016, the same season it won its CFA2 group — a ground of 5,000 seats. It now plays in Championnat National 2.

6 January 2019 is the date the club is known by outside the Loire. Drawn against Olympique de Marseille in the Coupe de France, and with no ground of its own fit for the tie, Andrézieux-Bouthéon took the match to Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and won it 2–0, Bryan-Clovis Ngwabije and Florian Milla scoring, Rémi Amieux captaining the side. Six months later, on 1 July 2019, ASF Andrézieux-Bouthéon became Andrézieux-Bouthéon FC.

Anthony Vacheron joined Andrézieux at under-11 level, went to Saint-Étienne's academy, then came back to play for the senior team before turning professional with Union Titus Pétange in Luxembourg.
