Coupe de France 2025/26: fixtures & table

The Coupe de France stands as the premier national knockout cup in French football. Founded in 1917 by the French Interfederal Committee (CFI), it began as the Coupe Charles Simon, named for a founder who died in the First World War. Henri Delaunay, the CFI's general secretary, organized the first final in 1918. The tournament sits at the top of the domestic cup hierarchy and is open to all registered amateur and professional clubs in France and its overseas territories, involving over 7,000 participants.

The format is a single-elimination knockout tournament. Early rounds are organized regionally, with teams entering at different stages based on their league level. District and regional teams start in Rounds 1–3, while Ligue 1 clubs enter at the Round of 64. From the 7th round onwards, the draw is national. Matches are single-leg; if tied, extra time and penalties decide the winner, a rule established in 1975 when replays were abolished. The final is held at the Stade de France.

There is no promotion or relegation associated with the cup. The primary reward for the winner is qualification for the UEFA Europa League and the Trophée des Champions. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is the most successful club with 16 titles as of 2025. The current holder is PSG, who won the 2024–25 edition by defeating Stade de Reims 3–0. Notable historical moments include the 1957 final where Algerian club SCU El Biar defeated Stade de Reims, and the 1999–2000 final where amateur club Calais RUFC reached the final. The competition has never had a title sponsor in its official name. The FFF allows its partners to display logos on kits during the tournament, but the competition remains officially the Coupe de France.
