Lerumo Lions

Marokana holds the chair at Lerumo Lions, a position that makes her one of the few women running a South African football club. In July 2025, with the club still contesting regional football, it bought the National First Division status of relegated Pretoria Callies, skipping the promotion playoffs entirely and stepping straight into the second tier for 2025–26. The trade-off went the other way down the pyramid: the club's ABC Motsepe League place passed to Mantserre Young Lions, a switch that landed SAFA North West in an administrative dispute it has not fully settled.

The club had earned its push. Twice running, in 2023–24 and again in 2024–25, it finished second in the SAFA Second Division's North West Stream, close enough to promotion. Somewhere in that stretch the base moved to Bethanie, though Rustenburg remains home on the fixture list, with Olympia Park and its 32,000 seats as the ground.

Black and gold shirts have brought the club its name, The Lions, and there is no single rival it measures itself against — instead a running friction with Thames FC over player eligibility, and with SAFA North West over fixtures, disputes that have followed the club as often as results have. None of that has slowed the climb.
