Platinum FC

Zvishavane exists because of mining, and the football club that carries the town's name grew out of the same ground: employees of the Mimosa Mining Company put it together on 1 July 1995.

What Mandava Stadium's 15,000 seats cannot always hold is CAF business, which has sent FC Platinum to Barbourfields in Bulawayo or the National Sports Stadium in Harare when the occasion demanded a bigger venue.

The trophies stopped being a novelty some time ago. FC Platinum have taken the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021–22, 2022–23 and 2023–24. The Castle Challenge Cup went the same way four years running, from 2017 to 2020, and the Chibuku Super Cup followed in 2021.

Locally the derby is with Shabanie Mine; nationally it is Ngezi Platinum Stars who draw the sharper needle.

Rodwell Chinyengetere gave the club its clearest individual mark, named Soccer Star of the Year in both 2018 and 2019 before South African football took him, to Baroka FC.
