Prisons XI

The Botswana Police College Stadium in Marapula holds 1,500 people: Prisons XI share their place in the Botswana Premier League with the other uniformed sides, BDF XI and Botswana Police XI.

The club grew out of the Botswana Prison Service in 1964 and has worn green and white since. "The Warders" have never won the league, and their closest brush with the title came in the early 1990s, when they finished runners-up. In cup football the high point was 1994, when they reached the semi-finals of the Coca-Cola Cup before losing 1-0 to Extension Gunners. Since then the club has moved between divisions, dropping out of the top flight and returning to it in 2012 and again in 2018.

Kabelo Kgosiang did more than anyone to keep the club's name current outside the prison service itself. A midfielder who could also play in defence, he joined in 2000, all while winning caps for Botswana between 1999 and 2005 and playing through the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and the qualifying campaign for the 2006 World Cup.

None of that changed what the fixture still comes down to at the Botswana Police College Stadium.
