Tatran Krásno

Football took hold in Krásno nad Kysucou in 1924. That club has worn several names since — Sokol, Drevina, and eventually Tatran, alongside a brief spell as MŠK before reverting to TJ Tatran in 2012. Locally the players are known as Vrabčiari, and they take the field in blue and yellow.

The rivalry with FK Čadca goes back to the same year football arrived in the town, 1924, and is still spoken of as the Kysucké El Clásico. A fire at the ground on 7 July 2006 took out the main stand.

Krásno's name travelled furthest in the 2015/16 Slovak Cup, when the club met Fortuna Liga side MFK Skalica in the second round. Down 0-1, they forced penalties and won the shoot-out 4-3, a result that pulled in over a thousand spectators and set the ground's attendance record. The Kráner Cup was added in 2002.

Liga rather than staying in the 3. Liga once there: promotions in 2006 and 2014 were each followed by relegation, and the pattern repeated after the 2023/24 title, with the club dropping down again at the end of 2024/25.
