Al-Orobah Club Stadium

Sakakah sits in Al-Jawf, the northern region whose administrative centre it is, and the ground on the city's northern edge carries no sponsor's name — only that of the club that plays there, Al-Orobah.

Those stages do not line up neatly. The structure itself was finished in 1975, but the club did not begin using it as a working stadium until more than a decade later, when it was formally opened. What happened in the gap is not recorded in any detail — the building stood before the football did.

Finding the place involves a small complication that says something about where it is. There is no street address in circulation for it: no road name, no number. What exists instead is a set of coordinates — 29°52'41" N, 40°06'16" E — and a direction, north of the city. Visitors navigate by point, not by postcode.

The playing surface is natural grass, and the ground holds 7,000. Work on developing and modernising the ground is under way, though what that covers, and on what timetable, has not been made public.

Nor is there a record of the largest crowd the ground has taken.
