Beverhalle

The Beverhalle sits quietly at the end of Schulstraße, a functional hall built in 1999. It is not a cathedral of sport, but a double gymnasium with a retained stand tucked into its side. The capacity is modest — 259 seats — a number confirmed by Volleybox. The hall serves the town of Ostbevern, a small community in North Rhine-Westphalia, and it does so with a variety of uses.

The primary tenant is the BSV Ostbevern women’s volleyball team, which has competed in the 2. Bundesliga Nord. They do not play here exclusively; the hall also hosts handball matches for the HSG Bever-Ems joint team, formed in 2017 between BSV Ostbevern and SV Ems Westbevern. Basketball matches have been held here, including games for Blau-Weiß Dingden, and a youth girls’ football tournament took place in January 2013. Shotokan Karate events are another fixture. The football team BSV Ostbevern uses the nearby Beverstadion, not this hall.

The building itself is plain. It has an adjacent foyer, often used as a club room, and the stand is embedded into the structure rather than rising above it. The municipality owns the venue, and it is used for sports, culture, art, celebrations, and assemblies. The hall is close to landmarks such as the Josef-Annegarn-Schule and St. Ambrosius Church, but these are not part of the venue. No architect or construction company is associated with its build in public records.

The women’s volleyball team plays here, the handball team trains here, and occasionally basketball and karate are held within its walls.
